Minatomachi Base 946BANYA (Kushiro Banya) is, the tenant space that was a restaurant of a complex commercial facility located in Kushiro City, regenerated, a new base and co-creation space of the port town.
"BANYA (Banya)" has the meaning of, a workplace or lodge that fishermen build on the coastline near fishing grounds, and a facility where, in old times, local residents had been playing roles by turns, such as Edo period fire brigades or community centers.
As a base (Base) for town development of Minatomachi Kushiro (Kushiro・946), and also as a "place for co-creation" for realizing local residents' "want to do", aims for regional problem solving and creation of liveliness.
