Minatomachi Base 946 BANYA is a new hub and co-creation space for the port town, renovated from a former restaurant space in a shopping complex in Kushiro City.
"BANYA" refers to a facility where local residents took turns fulfilling roles, such as a workshop or guardhouse that fishermen built on the coastline near their fishing grounds, or as far back as the Edo period, a fire brigade or community center.
We aim to solve local issues and create a lively atmosphere by serving as a base for urban development in the port city of Kushiro (Kushiro-946) and as a place for co-creation that allows local residents to realize their aspirations.

After leaving JR Kushiro Station, head south along the main street in front of the station (Kita-Odori). Continue straight toward the Kushiro River, and Fisherman's Wharf Surman MOO will be the building on your right just before Nusamai Bridge.
