This park is beloved by many as the famous spot for the latest-blooming cherry blossoms in Japan. Onbetsu-cho Ikoi no Mori Campground & Fureai no Mori (Kushiro City): Camp Surrounded by Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom

This campground is surrounded by a forest that becomes a famous cherry blossom spot in spring. It features bungalows and a barbecue corner that can accommodate up to about 60 people. A nearby mountain stream is perfect for fishing and water play, allowing you to enjoy outdoor activities along with hanami. The adjacent "Fureai no Mori" is a scenic spot selected as one of the New Eight Views of Onbetsu, and its autumn foliage is also spectacular.

Kokutai-ji Temple (Akkeshi Town): A Cherry Tree Over 180 Years Old with a Rich History

Kokutai-ji, one of the oldest temples in eastern Hokkaido, is nestled by Cape Barasan. The temple grounds are one of the most famous cherry blossom spots in Hokkaido. Among them, an old cherry tree stands out with its particularly deep-colored flowers. This ancient tree, over 180 years old, is a Sargent's cherry (Oyamazakura). It stands about 10 meters tall with a trunk circumference of about 3 meters, and its long branches spread out in all directions.

Nenohi Park (Akkeshi Town): Overlooking Akkeshi Bay with Countless Ezo Yamazakura Trees

This park, overlooking Lake Akkeshi, has become a famous cherry blossom spot with over a thousand Ezo Yamazakura (Sargent's cherry) trees, the town's official tree, planted here. In addition to Ezo Yamazakura and Yaezakura (double-flowered cherry), you can also see the Fugenzo cherry, which is rare in Hokkaido. The park also hosts major Akkeshi events, such as the "Sakura and Oyster Festival" in spring and the "Oyster Festival" in autumn.

Suzuran Park (Otofuke Town): Observe Cherry Blossoms and Wildlife in a Park on a Small Hill

Suzuran Park, located on a small hill near the Tokachi Ohashi Bridge, is a popular cherry blossom spot in spring. In early June, you can also see lilies of the valley (suzuran) with their delicate and lovely flowers. The park is surrounded by nature and is home to wild birds and Ezo red squirrels.

Kiyomigaoka Park (Ikeda Town): A Community Plaza Welcomed by a Tunnel of Cherry Blossoms

In spring, Kiyomigaoka Park is transformed by about 600 Ezo Yamazakura trees that create a tunnel of flowers. The park's 36-hole park golf course is free to play, and the barbecue house "Seishotei" serves as a popular gathering place for local residents.

Midorigaoka Park (Obihiro City): Enjoy an Active Hanami in a Park with Sports Facilities

This park is one of Obihiro's premier cherry blossom spots, beautiful in spring with sakura and in autumn with colorful foliage. You can also see a rich variety of wildlife, including Ezo red squirrels and wild birds, as well as plants like Adonis ramosa and Cardiocrinum cordatum. The park features a "Wild Plant Garden" where you can observe about 380 species of plants native to the Tokachi region, and the 8-hectare lawn area "Green Park" offers a sense of openness you can't find in the city.
