A free outdoor movie screening will be held for the first time at the Sapporo Kita 3-jo Hiroba (Akapla), located in front of the Former Hokkaido Government Office Building (Red Brick Office). Food trucks will be on-site, and you can also bring your own food and drinks. A fluffy artificial turf area will be available, allowing you to enjoy the movie with takeout gourmet from nearby shops.

EVNET 3 "Rail Carnival in Otaru": Ride a Pedal-Powered Trolley on Otaru's Abandoned Railway Line (Otaru)

At the "Rail Carnival in Otaru," you can feel the breeze as you ride a pedal-powered trolley along the historic Former Temiya Line. The trolley runs on the abandoned tracks, making a round trip from Otaru Station's Chuo-dori to the Otaru Port Inaho Line prefectural road. It's a great addition to your Otaru sightseeing, and on Children's Day, May 5, elementary school students can ride for free, making it a special experience recommended for families.

The "Jozankei Onsen Keiryu Koinobori" is a traditional event that colors the spring in Jozankei. The streamers are collected from homes and workplaces across Hokkaido that no longer need them, making this a heartwarming tradition that celebrates the arrival of spring along with cherished memories.

Held in front of the Former Hanada Family Herring Mansion, a nationally designated Important Cultural Property in Obira, this festival celebrates the town's history and cuisine. In addition to free distribution of Sanpei-jiru (fish soup) and a gourmet & sales corner with delicious local food and handmade specialties, there will also be stage events such as taiko drumming, brass band performances, song shows, and Matsumae Kagura (sacred dance). The festival concludes with a big-catch lottery and a rice-cake throwing event, further exciting the crowd.

This is a unique historical experience event held exclusively on Children's Day. In the Kakebotoke Polishing Experience, you can polish a *kakebotoke* (a hanging Buddhist plaque), which are only excavated in Kaminokuni Town within Hokkaido, with a wish in your heart for it to come true. In the Stone Mill Matcha Making Experience, you can try making matcha using the oldest stone mill in Hokkaido. Special sweets for Children's Day will also be provided.
