The Garinko features a bright red body and two huge drills called Archimedian Screws. In 2004, the ship was registered as a Hokkaido Heritage site as "Drift Ice and the Garinko.

The cruise through the drift ice that covers the coast of the Sea of Okhotsk is a winter-only experience that can only be enjoyed here. The sight of the ship moving forward through the ice floes is a powerful sight to behold! The cabin is heated for your comfort, and the observation deck on the second floor allows you to fully enjoy the view of the ice floes while feeling the Okhotsk winds. If you are lucky, you may see eagles, a natural treasure, or wild seals.

On a sunrise cruise or sunset cruise, you will lose track of time in the fantastic sight of the sun and drift ice. The Galinco is also very active in the summer for fishing cruises, such as flounder fishing. Rental rods and bait are available for purchase, so you can join the cruise empty-handed.

In January 2021, the "Garinko-go III IMERU" will enter service, and will be operated as a two-ship fleet with the Garinko-go II. We hope you will enjoy the even more powerful Garinko.
